  1. This crib was easy to assemble! I am 6 months pregnant and assembled the whole thing myself!!! The picture here doesn’t do it justice as it is absolutely beautiful! I purchsed the crib in white.

  2. Save yourself alot of hassle – don’t buy a Stork Craft crib. My son is a year old and there have been TWO major safely recalls this year. The brackets that hold the mattress board had to be replaced earlier this year and now the cheap plastic supports that hold the sliding side in place need to be replaced. These have BOTH been major safety issues where children have died, so on two occasions, I’ve had to stop using my crib until the repair kit arrives. Right now, I can’t even order the second repair kit, they are so flooded with calls right now that I can’t get to the website or the phone line (the second recall was on CNN on the 23rd). The first repair kit took two months to arrive.

I am sure these issues have been fixed in the new cribs, but to me personally, these issues don’t speak well of the manufacturers. Go with a different brand.

  3. I don’t think I will ever buy another product from Stork Craft again. We purchased our crib late last year. One of the front slat in our crib arrived broken, so we immediately requested a replacement part from Stork Craft. It took more than 2 months for the part to even leave their warehouse. It took multiple phone calls to Stork Craft, first to the folks at customer service and then working our way up the chain of command to finally get an answer to the status of the replacement part. During that whole time, we could not assemble the crib. In January of 2009, we received a notice from the manufacturer that the metal brackets on this particular crib (Ariel Stages) had been recalled and that we should contact Stork Craft for a replacement. We did so immediately. It is now mid-April, and we STILL have not received the replacement brackets. The only answer that customer service has given me is that they are sent on a first-come, first-serve basis… but this is a product that has been RECALLED for safety reasons. I can’t even write about what the crib looks like fully assembled, because we are still waiting for the brackets. Never again.

  4. I bought this crib for our first baby last year and was initially satisfied with it. However, in January I got an email from Amazon letting me know that the crib had been recalled due to the mattress support brackets failing. There was a number to call to get replacements. My wife tried calling multiple times over a week period and always got a busy signal. I imagine they were pretty busy with all the people calling in, but it was still pretty inconvenient calling over and over, since there was no way to leave a message. After not being able to get through she tried emailing, but never got a response. Finally, after another week or so she managed to get through and talked to a rather uninterested support person who actually had the gall to complain about how they were making her work an extra hour per day to deal with the extra call volume. Anyway, they said they would FedEx the brackets to us. Now, another two weeks later we’re still waiting. In the meantime the baby has been sleeping in his playpen for the last month. In conclusion, these guys don’t care about their customers and I will never buy from them again.

  5. The crib looked great, but was poorly constructed. First, the mattress support was made of particle board. It reeked of chemicals (I’m sure formeldehyde was in there). I aired out the room for almost two months, but it still had a smell. I did not like the idea of my daughter breathing this in.

The leg of the crib also split, so we could no longer use it. We had to disassemble and move the crib and the place where the front and side meet split. We were careful, but the wood was very soft. My daughter had never even slept in the crib. I purchased a much sturdier and non-smelly crib to replace it. Although I wasted my money on this one, I’m glad my daughter didn’t sleep in it.
